Dr. Dhawal Buaria studied Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur, India), where he received his B.Tech. (2008) and M.Tech. (2009) degrees. He continued his studies at Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA), where he received his M.S. (2011) and Ph.D. (2016) degrees also in Aerospace Engineering. During his Ph.D., he worked on developing highly scalable and massively parallel computational algorithms for state-of-the-art turbulence simulations and applying them to study the fundamental nature of turbulent dispersion and mixing. After spending some time at École Normale Supérieure (Lyon, France), he joined the institute as a postdoctoral researcher in 2017, where his research continues to focus on fundamental investigations of turbulence using some of the fastest supercomputers in the world.
